MANHASSET, NEW YORK, OCTOBER 24, 2023 — P.O.W.E.R. (Professional Organization of Women of Excellence Recognized) held their Awards Gala at the Mansion at Oyster Bay in Woodbury, New York on October 19. This spectacular event brought together P.O.W.E.R. members and guests from across the country to celebrate the accomplishments, leadership, and unwavering dedication of 11 exceptional women, along with one remarkable man, for their contributions to the empowerment of women.
This year’s honorees were: Harris Faulkner, Woman of the Year; Christie Brinkley, Icon Award; Dr. David Pincus, Man of the Year; Patricia L. Blake, Hope & Inspiration Award; Deborah Adler, Top Mom Award; Theresa (Terry) Prag, Angel Award; Captain Sandy Yawn, Glass Ceiling Award; Dr. Kelly Mattone, Inside/Out Beauty Award; Rainere Martin, Music Legacy Award; Dr. Rajasree Roy, Power Top Doctor and Dottie Herman, Top Real Estate Mogul, and Gerri Willis, Pink Ribbon Award.
P.O.W.E.R. Founder and Event Organizer Tonia DeCosimo’s hard word, vision, and dedication brought this memorable gala to life, drawing attendees from all over the United States who came to celebrate these remarkable honorees. Her relentless commitment to women’s excellence and empowerment was exemplified in the event, which not only acknowledged the achievements of the honorees but also created an atmosphere that fostered new connections and business relationships.
“The evening was a tremendous success,” said DeCosimo. “It was heartwarming to see P.O.W.E.R.’s members and guests come together to celebrate these exceptional honorees. It was also especially rewarding for me to witness our guests meeting, mingling, and making future business connections. This is what P.O.W.E.R. is all about!”
DeCosimo’s vision and tireless efforts over the past 10 years have built P.O.W.E.R. to one of the top female empowerment business networking organizations nationwide. P.O.W.E.R. is dedicated to empowering and mentoring women, fostering connections, and providing a platform for recognition and knowledge-sharing among accomplished individuals.
To coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a portion of the proceeds from the Gala were donated to the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition (BBCC), a grassroots, volunteer-based nonprofit organization that serves the entire Township of Babylon, New York. The BBCC provides direct patient services and support to help ease the burdens that breast and all gynecological cancers put on patients and their families.
